West Virginia

This post retreived from the jasonramsey.net archival vaults.

Back from West Virginia. I went on a brief vacation to Canaan Valley Resort. WV has some really pretty country, I'll post some snapshots when Tiff gets them developed. It's the highest valley of it's size east of the Mississippi. No joke. I was dizzy the first night there.

We visited Blackwater Falls, went to the top of the ski resort's highest lift (nearly 4000 ft -- wow), and rode horseback quite a ways up Bald Knob. Yes-- I got on horseback. Go figure. And it was pretty damn cool. If you're new at horseback riding, or just want a good adventure, I strongly recommend Mountain Trail Rides -- (304) 866-4652. Rodney was our guide, and it was a great time. They do anything from the tame 1 hour ride we did, to overnight adventure rides. Good stuff.

Pennsylvania seems like the flat lands after this. :)

On a closer to home note, the townhouse we looked at last weekend bailed on us and rented the place we looked at out. Whatever. I'm looking for a better place as we speak. I would have signed the lease today, even though they had no washer/dryer hookups, no dishwasher, crummy parking. Their loss...

Check out trancestorm.com below. I've added a trivia contest and free e-mail. Both are live as of today.

Trancestorm

This post retreived from the jasonramsey.net archival vaults.

Okay. I have crossed over into the realm of sick. No-- I'm feeling much better. The web design foray I've made with this site has been expanded as you may have noticed at the bottom of my main page. (The pretentious affiliate footer for trancestorm design.) I was shocked to find that www.trancestorm.com was not registered. It is now.

This is what happens when my girlfriend is out of town and I'm bored.

I actually have content I want to put up there, but I need to get a firewire card and start digitally recording some of my video projects from school. What an outlet for my video work! In the meantime, it's a space holder, and I plan to make it a kick-ass looking space holder.

I found a couple of other cool names which I'll register when I can find more cash to throw away. I cancelled my subscription to the Times-News to pay for trancestorm. Next, I think Computer Gaming World will have to go.

bored and sick

This post retreived from the jasonramsey.net archival vaults.

Very bored. I woke up sick and nauseous. I went to work. It got worse. I came home and, well after several bouts kneeling to the porcelain god, I'm eating and drinking again. Typical. I get to leave early from work and I use the time sleeping and puking.

I've been listening to digitally imported since about 3 this afternoon. Definitely beats listening to any of the local Erie radio stations. Just as long as I don't have to hear that damn Sarah McLachlan remix again. It wasn't that good originally. I've been in kind of a pre-techno/alternative Jesus Jones (the good Jesus Jones, not "Right Here Right Now") and Psykosonik mood, with a little Beth Orton/William Orbit thrown in.

My sister is starting work at a hospital in Hopewell, VA in June. Good for you-- Someday I'll be able to build up that kind of nerve to just pick up and move 15 hours away. It's always been harder for me than for you, and I admire you for it.

The webcams lie dormant. I haven't hooked one back up at work yet. They done stoled it! (Actually, we're doing some slick netmeeting stuff with it, which was its original purpose anyway...)

Planning the move

This post retreived from the jasonramsey.net archival vaults.

Wow-- I went another month without updating. Busy busy busy. Things have smoothed out a lot lately, work is slow. Summer is bringing some much needed relief. Vacation in two weeks, definitely needed as well. Tiffany graduated today, brought back memories good and bad of my time in school. Of course, I was working via cell phone for most of the morning, so I didn't get to relax too much.

We're traveling to WV for a couple of days at the end of May here. Tiff just decided to make reservations, which was good, because I've been hemming and hawing for about a month, and probably wouldn't have made a decision at all.

Time to start planning my move. I counted the food in my freezer and I have enough food in my freezer alone to make 64 meals. (Dinner for two counts as 2 in that equation.) No more grocery shopping until I move. Whoo-hoo! Found a couple of nice places in Erie, now if only have DSL available...
