Snow sucks, but not as bad as Ronald Reagan

This post retreived from the jasonramsey.net archival vaults.

Came back from Pittsburgh today, after a harrowing travel experience to visit relatives. Well, I shouldn't say harrowing. Pittsburgh only got about 10 inches of snow, which caused near panic according to local news folks, but they're prone to exaggerating an already exaggerated situation. It was a little hairy going down last night before the plows really got going, but the folks at PennDOT kept up with the snow and by this morning, the roads were clear! (PennDOT doesn't get enough credit - if you drive a snowplow for a living, you ROCK. Period.)

Here is a funny link about our "fearless" leader, (and this post's not getting too political, yet.) By the way, I heard there was a blue plate special in Pittsburgh last week. $2000 is lot to pay to have to swallow what was offered there. (Oops...)

Have I mentioned that wireless home networking and a cable modem are the way to go? It's still true. My laptop isn't plugged into anything right now, as I update this page!

I'm getting cranky lately. I'm sorry. I think it's the garbage about putting Ronald Reagan on the dime and taking FDR off. Personal feelings aside about Ronald Reagan, no way, no how does he compare to FDR. It'd be like putting Grover Cleveland on the 5 dollar bill. Nothing against Mr. Cleveland, but he didn't have to deal with half the drama Lincoln did. And the word is that a TV miniseries about the Reagans, that nobody watched, has driven House Republicans into a frenzy. Maybe they should watch Survivor and put Rupert Boneham on the quarter instead of that old Washington geezer guy. At least it gets higher ratings...

Those who favor a Reagan dime may need some background as to who Grover Cleveland actually was, since they have such a poor grasp of historical events. Here. I'll help.

Oh - Jean Chretien is hilarious! If he's ever down south to this crazy country, he's invited to dinner at my house, anytime. Gosh it would be nice to actually have a leader who could make interesting dinner conversation... (and not charge me $2000 for it... OOPS!)
